The Dwarves Return with First New LP in Seven Years

Confirming a rampant rumour running around the mill for months, legendary abrasive punk rockers the Dwarves have announced that their latest full-length album is complete, titled and has a street date. It just took them seven years to do.

The Dwarves Are Born Again will see an official release through an as-yet unnamed label on May 10, with both CD and vinyl versions containing a bonus DVD. In fact, you can already hear two new album tracks, "The Dwarves Are Still The Best Band Ever" and "Stop Me" below.

"That's right, folks, the Dwarves' magnum opus is done and set to drop," says their official statement. "25 years in the making, The Dwarves Are Born Again features heroes from throughout the Dwarves saga. Blag the Ripper, HeWhoCanNotBeNamed, Rex Everything, the Fresh Prince of Darkness and a cast of thousands, including Vadge Moore and Sgt. Saltpeter, from the notorious Blood, Guts and Pussy record, return to crush the ears of a desperate public."

Discussing the album during a previous interview with Punknews, vocalist Blag Dahlia assured that the record would be closer to the band's more cherished punk rock roots, hopefully erasing the oddity that was 2004's The Dwarves Must Die.

"Our fans should be pleased," Dahlia said. "There are some weird, wacky moments, but not as much as The Dwarves Must Die, which was as out-there as we have gotten. Also, no one wanted to hear me rap again!"
