Dua Lipa and Kevin Parker Might Be Working Together

Does she know Tame Impala is just one guy?

This Barbie is getting into psych rock. Despite her Barbie track "Dance the Night" sounding like a Future Nostalgia deep cut, Dua Lipa's next album will be inspired by "1970s-era psychedelia" — perhaps with a little help from Kevin Parker.

While a Tame Impala credit on the pop star's fourth record has been rumoured for quite some time, Lipa may have unintentionally spilled the beans in a recent profile by The New York Times Style Magazine.

When writer Kurt Soller brings up the possibility of Parker collaborating with her on new songs, Lipa told him, "I don't know what you're talking about," before looking away and laughing.

Fans have been speculating that the pair have been collaborating since November. One of Lipa's Instagram posts from last fall showed her drinking wine in front of a railing that matches one at Parker's Los Angeles home. Another photo in the carousel post captured studio monitors allegedly housed in Parker's studio. His wife and manager also liked said post. Coincidence? We think not.

Lipa also said that her new album's psych-leanings will be pop-oriented as not to "alienate" her fans, lest they "have a meltdown." Said record is slotted for a 2024 release. Until then, the disco-heavy Future Nostalgia remains her latest effort.
