Drake Skips Polaris to Open His Own Restaurant in Toronto

What a time to be alive for rap music loving foodies in Toronto. Drake skipped out on an invitation to the Polaris Music Prize gala —where If You're Reading This It's Too Late was up for the award — last night (September 21), opting instead to host the surprise opening of his new restaurant, Fring's
 
Located at 455 King St. W, the hotspot is apparently co-owned by celebrity chef Susur Lee, who had been hinting at the secret project on social media earlier this week.

Drake, meanwhile, showed his support for the new venture with a Vine.
 

Reports from the inaugural event [via BlogTO] claim that Drake performed a DJ set, and played host to special guests like Serena Williams and Jaden Smith.
 
While Drizzy was presumably indulging in "some well-done seared scallops that were to die for," the Toronto Symphony Orchestra was paying homage to If You're Reading This It's Too Late cut "Know Yourself" at the aforementioned Polaris gala. Watch that performance below.
