Following months of speculation, the official word is in that, as predicted, shit-hot Toronto rapper Drake has signed on with Lil Wayne's Young Money imprint and will be distributed by Universal Republic. The rapper, who rose to fame as an actor on Degrassi: The Next Generation, has been in the midst of a massive bidding war from different labels over the last few months.

Born Aubrey Graham, Drake recently told Billboard that his label choice would have to be an extension of his personal brand, saying, "Just know that whatever label we sign to it'll be because they'll add to what we've created on our own...The most important thing for me is being around my team - they are stronger than any label."

Drake is currently putting the finishing touches on his debut album, Thank Me Later. The record is expected out before the end of the year, and might feature contributions from Kanye West, Lil Wayne and Jay-Z.

As we previously reported, you can catch Drake opening for Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy and Soulja Boy on the upcoming America's Most Wanted tour.
