Drake Breaks Another Streaming Record with 'Scorpion'

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Jul 3, 2018

Drake has once again set a streaming record, with his latest effort Scorpion earning the most album streams in one week — just three days into the week.

According to Billboard, Scorpion has surpassed 435 million listens since its release on June 29. That breaks the previous record held by Post Malone's Beerbongs & Bentleys, which was released earlier this year.

It is forecasted that Scorpion could reach more than 700 million streams by the week's end. The official totals will be released on July 8.

It's also expected that Drake's latest will debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, making it his eighth No. 1 release in a row.

Back in January, Drake broke the record for the most Spotify and Apple Music streams in a single day with the release of "God's Plan."

Before that, he also earned the most-streamed record and song in 2016 for VIEWS and "One Dance," respectively. Then last year, he broke the single-day album streaming record upon the release of More Life.
