Doomsquad have already got a vote of confidence from Owen Pallett, as he selected the sibling trio to perform at his curated night for Exclaim!'s 20th anniversary last year. Now, the Montreal/Toronto-based band have signed a record deal in advance of a new EP and their debut full-length.

The band's self-titled EP will be out this summer through Artificial Records/Hand Drawn Dracula. It includes three tracks, one of which is an epic cover of the Doors' "Riders on the Storm." Hear that at the bottom of this page.

The EP will be followed by a full-length in the fall through Hand Drawn Dracula. We don't have have much confirmed information about the album, but previous posts on the outfit's Bandcamp page suggest that it might be called Kalaboogie.

According to a press release, Doomsquad play a new age-informed variant on electronic music that has "a more worldly and cosmological presence than the genre would normally dictate." Their sound features guitar, flute, percussion and synthesizer, offering "relics of cross cultural traditions like chanting and repetition over seismic ripples of deep bass."

The band's upcoming tour schedule is also below. Scroll past the EP tracklist to check it out.
