Doomriders Announce October Release for 'Grand Blood'

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jul 31, 2013

After months of speculation, Doomriders have finally confirmed that their long-awaited third album arrives this fall. Titled Grand Blood, the metal-and-hardcore tacticians' latest long-player arrives October 15 via Deathwish Inc.

As previously reported, the band tracked the set at producer Kurt Ballou's GodCity studios in Salem, MA earlier this year, and the ten-song set is the group's first with Clouds drummer Q behind the kit. It's been a long wait for fans, as Doomriders haven't issued an LP since 2009's Darkness Comes Alive.

While studio recordings have yet to arrive, you can check out the band tackling album opener "New Pyramids" at the beginning of the live video down below, which was filmed last May in Quincy, MA.

A press release explains that tracks like "Back Taxes" and "Bad Vibes" bring a newfound noise-rock influence into the mix, though it's hinted that "the hooks Doomriders are known for are as sharp as ever" on tracks like "Dead Friends" and "Gone to Hell." Up above, you'll see the album art, as delivered by Thomas Hooper. The LP packaging was handled by Ryan Patterson (Coliseum) and Newton's Converge bandmate J. Bannon.
