Published Mar 16, 2011With the leak of "Avalanche" and "Victory Lap" earlier this year, it was beginning to look as if DOOM may have finally completed the second album with Madvillain, his beloved Madlib collaboration. Since then, no details have emerged, but in a recent interview, DOOM did say that the record was finished. Along with that vague news, he pointed to an even more exciting revelation: he has been working with Radiohead's Thom Yorke on some new material.
In an interview with 3D World magazine [via One Thirty BPM], DOOM explained that he and Yorke have been "working on some duets, some duet songs and shit. Just like preliminary shit, but we'll probably end up doing a whole record together... he's cool -- he got a lot of ill ass ideas and shit, you know."
It's hard to take anything DOOM says too seriously, as the notoriously slow-working artist once promised an entire album of Ghostface Killah collaborations, but it's still likely that the two will get some work done. Yorke has expressed major love for DOOM's lyricisms, even remixing Born Like This track "Gazillion Ear" (listen below).
And Yorke is clearly in a collaborative mood lately, having just announced a new twelve-inch with Four Tet and Burial.
