DOOM and Mos Def Postpone Tonight's Toronto Appearance and Upcoming U.S. Shows

As we told you last month, mysterious hip-hop supervillain DOOM announced a pair of shows with "conscious" word-smith Mos Def. It sounded like the perfect combination: DOOM's shroud of secrecy with Mos Def's next-door charm; a cold, silver mask contrasted by an iconic backpack, with both rappers meeting in the middle with their laid-back, slowed-down drawl. Unfortunately, tonight's show at Toronto's Koolhaus has been postponed, as have the rappers' U.S. dates in Chicago and New York.

When we first reported the pair-up, we expressed hesitance because of DOOM's notorious no-shows as of late. The rapper has even admitted to hiring actors to play him in concert. In other words, there was a small chance DOOM wouldn't have shown up to Toronto's Koolhaus tonight anyway.

No official reason was given for the delay of shows in the press release, but word is there is a scheduling conflict due to Mos Def's commitments around Grammy time. Regardless, the Toronto performance has been rescheduled for February 25. The February show will honour tickets that were purchased for tonight, and refunds will be accepted until February 22.
