DOOM & Masta Ace

"Slow Down"

While believing in new material from elusive masked rapper DOOM often ends in heartbreak, we've got another potential collaboration to add to our most wanted lists alongside the next Madvillain album. This one might actually surface, though, as it's a collection of DOOM instrumentals with new rapping from Queens veteran Masta Ace.

As reported late last year, the album is called MA DOOM: Son of Yvonne, and sees Masta Ace rapping over DOOM beats culled from his Special Herbs series. In other words, DOOM's contribution to the project was already recorded in the mid-2000s, when he actually completed projects.

MA DOOM is expected to drop in the summer. For now, there's a stream of album track "Slow Down" available below. According to the SoundCloud page, Masta Ace explains that it's a "cautionary tale directed at rappers on tour looking for groupie love."
