Donald Glover Cuts Down 'Community' Involvement to Focus on Music as Childish Gambino

Though he's known to many as simple-minded Troy Barnes on NBC's meta comedy Community, Donald Glover also limelights as a rapper, performing as Childish Gambino. After making waves for his mixtapes and debut album Camp, his rap career has slowed down, presumably so that he can make genre movie parodies disguised as sitcom episodes on Community. That will change soon, however, as he's toned down his role significantly in the show's upcoming new season.

Vulture reports that Glover has scaled back his role in the upcoming final season of Community, working out a deal where he will only appear in five of the show's upcoming 13 new episodes.

Last month, Vulture also reported that sources close to Glover were saying that he wanted to put less time into the show so that he focus on his rap career.

This is terrible news for fans of Troy and Abed in the Morning, but those looking for more Childish Gambino should be pleased to know it's on the way.
