D.O.A. Prep 30th Anniversary Vinyl Repress of 'War on 45' and New Live Album

D.O.A.'s victory lap has tacked on another couple thousand miles, with the band having announced more farewell dates across the U.S. and Europe, along with a pair of upcoming releases.

Joe Keithley and the boys are prepping for a month-long trip of the U.S. that starts up in late August, while a trip overseas is still in the works.

A press release explains that the earlier part of the band's farewell celebrations this year, instigated by Keithley's desires to focus on politics, will be preserved on a double-LP concert set called Welcome to Chinatown. Though tracklisting details have yet to be revealed, a fair guess is that the live album will compile cuts recorded at the outfit's two-night stand last January at Vancouver's Rickshaw Theatre. The album is expected to arrive sometime in September.

More concrete are details on an upcoming repress of the band's classic EP, War on 45. Originally issued in 1982 by Faulty Products and then Alternative Tentacles, this vinyl edition comes via Keithley's own Sudden Death Records on September 3.

The eight-song 12-inch, which you may guess is set at 45 rpm, was produced by Thom Wilson (the Offspring) and includes politicized punk jams "I'm Right, You're Wrong" and "America the Beautiful," a dub version of "War in the East," and covers of the Dils' "Class War" and Motown singer Edwin Starr's protest anthem "War."

In other news, D.O.A. recently worked with director Marcus Rogers on a video for We Come in Peace's "Boneyard," which features a cameo from the Headstones' Hugh Dillon. You can give it a peep beneath the tour dates.
