Dntel Returns with New EP This Fall

While fans of electronic indie pop still mourn the fact that there will never be a second Postal Service album, they can take comfort knowing that Jimmy Tamborello continues to churn out music under the names James Figurine and Dntel. Following last year's compilation Early Works for Me If it Works for You, Tamborello has resurrected Dntel for his first new studio material since 2007.

Tamborello recently updated his website with the announcement that a new Dntel EP dubbed After Parties would be coming out on Sub Pop. The record is "about 40 minutes, all instrumental," he wrote. No official date has been announced, but he says it will be out in November. We also found a new track, presumably from the EP, on his SoundCloud page (you can hear the song below).

Some more sleuthing also revealed that Tamborello has a few other projects in the works for this year. His discography section lists After Parties II for release on Sub Pop this year, as well as a James Figurine covers album and a Dntel album called Early Works, Later Versions for release on Pthalo. There's little to no other information available about these release, but we'll keep you posted as more information surfaces.
