DJ Tiësto Leaks Word of DJ Hero Videogame

It appears DJ Tiësto has prematurely leaked some top-secret info on a DJ version of Guitar Hero, a move that's now led his handlers to do some serious backpedaling.

In a recent Tiësto newsletter, it stated: "We are proud to announce that Tiësto has teamed up with the game developer Activision and their latest project, DJ Hero."

Tiësto then added: "I am very excited about this! I think this is a great way to introduce people to DJing. Maybe they realize it's not as easy as they think. I am sure this brings new fans to the scene, dance music is not far from hip-hop, for example. Hopefully the music I have composed appeals to all kinds of fans!"

Activision has yet to confirm the existence of a DJ Hero game, but a spokesperson for Tiësto's U.S. label, Ultra, has now told Billboard the statement is not from Tiësto or his management and deny the DJ is participating in the supposed videogame.

A DJ Hero game has been rumoured for quite some time now, but without Activision stepping in and filling us in on what's up it appears for now to remain just a rumour. However, Genco Interactive and 7 Studios have confirmed that a game called Scratch: The Ultimate DJ is indeed in the works.

Unfortunately, we have no word on any upcoming Keytar Hero.
