And we have a winner, folks. After a month of intense live party competition, Halifax's DJ Cosmo took home the top honours in the Red Bull 3Style final Friday night in Toronto.
Besides earning some major bragging rights, this East coast party rocker walked away from this Canada-wide DJ battle with the $2,500 purse and the title of the nation's most versatile DJ. He also had the chance to move a lot of dance-hungry partygoers at Toronto's CiRCA club with his electro-fied hip-hop set, not to mention celeb judges A-Trak, Neil Armstrong, Team Canada, Mat the Alien and Jokers of the Scene.
Cosmo's Friday night win comes after ten regional Red Bull 3Style competitions, which featured 80 different DJ contenders from across the country. The top ten spin masters made it to the Toronto final, where each was given 15 minutes to deliver a diverse, party-rockin' set that was judged on creativity, track selection, skills, stage presence and audience response.
Coming in second in the final was DJ Mensa from Toronto, while Vancouver's DJ P-LUV took third. Hotly tipped competition favourite DJ Bryx failed to place.
