Here's a heads-up for all you DJs out there: If you're playing a set before DJ Assault, don't run over your allotted time – do so and he's likely to smoke your ass. At last week's Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona, French house DJ/producer Alan Braxe found this out the hard way.
According to several message board posts and now backed by video, Braxe (who co-produced Stardust's "Music Sounds Better with You") was overrunning his set by about ten minutes when ghetto-tech star DJ Assault asked him to cut the record. In response, Braxe ignored him, which soon led Assault to walk over, and, er, assault him by shoving the Frenchmen into a speaker stack, then grabbing the mic and shouting, "I'm from Detroit Homeboy!" Obviously, the crowd loves it and an onstage scuffle ensues with Assault coming out on top and effectively booting Braxe off the stage.
Then, according to one post, Assault came back and dropped "some 150bpm techno with songs about licking pussy over the top." At this time, we're unsure if by "pussy" Assault was referring to female genitalia or Braxe.
