It's been a few years now since Dizzee Rascal dropped his Tongue n' Cheek album, but the grime-y British MC will finally follow it up in 2013 with a new EP in advance of his forthcoming full-length.

NME reports that the six-track EP will arrive on January 1. Although the details have yet to be confirmed, this digital collection will be released on iTunes as a teaser for Dizzee's new album.

He said in a statement, "It's all new material and just a taster of all the good new music we got coming in the new year! The 'Bassline Junkie' video is gonna have people in stitches. 1 love!"

It's unclear whether there will be any overlap between the material on the EP and the subsequent album. Watch a live performance of the aforementioned "Bassline Junkie" below.

This isn't the only new material that the rapper has on the way. He will drop The Mixtape Vol. 2 on Boxing Day (December 26) through DirteeTV.com. Mixed by DJ MK, it will feature the likes of Newham Generals, Bun B, P Money, Frisco, Bun B, Jammer, Chronik and Merky Ace.

Dizzee Rascal most recently released "Scream" back in the summer as one of the official songs of the London 2012 Olympics.
