Divine Fits Reveal Debut Single
Last month, shortly after the breakup of the Handsome Furs, Dan Boeckner revealed his new project Divine Fits with Spoon's Britt Daniel and New Bomb Turks drummer Sam Brown. While we knew a debut LP was on the way, it looks as if the band will sprinkle a couple songs out this summer via an upcoming seven-inch, too.

Merge confirms that the label will let loose the group's "My Love Is Real" / "I Was Born in a Laundromat" single July 31. If you've been paying attention to the development of Divine Fits, you've already heard a snippet of the keyboard-and-clap-beat-spiked number "My Love Is Real," but you can now stream the song in full if you "like" the band on their Facebook page.

"I Was Born in a Laundromat" is an exclusive B-side that will not appear on the outfit's as-yet-untitled album, which was produced by Nick Launay  (Public Image Ltd., Killing Joke, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Yeah Yeah Yeahs) and has yet to receive its street date. While it's being issued on Merge in the U.S., the LP will be delivered via Universal Music Canada up north.
