Published Oct 17, 2012U.S./Canadian indie supergroup Divine Fits delivered one of the year's most interesting records via their recent debut disc A Thing Called Divine Fits, but band member/Spoon leader Britt Daniel chose to spend some time at a recent show celebrating another of the year's most triumphant artists, Frank Ocean.
Last night (October 16) at Pawtucket, RI's Met Café, Daniel and co. launched into a raw version of Channel Orange cut "Lost" that, when stripped of Ocean's velvety croon, seems as if it could easily have been penned by the Spoon leader himself. Between those stark guitar stabs, heartbreakingly honest lyrics, and steady, simple drum rhythms, it sounds like a long-lost Girls Can Tell-era track, à la "Everything Hits at Once."
