diskJokke Returns with Sagara LP

Norwegian electro great diskJokke has had our full attention since dropping his excellent debut, Staying In, in 2008. Since then, he has followed it up with last year's En Fin Tid and shown no signs of slowing down with the announcement of another new album this year.

The forthcoming release is called Sagara and is the byproduct of a request from Norway's Øya Festival, who commissioned an original piece from diskJokke in 2009. With the support to travel wherever he wanted, the producer took the project to Indonesia, where he collaborated with a group called Sambasunda. Together, they recorded traditional instruments along with field recordings in Bandung, Java and its surrounding area.

A press release explains that diskJokke originally intended to build a techno record out of this well of samples. However, Sagara came out differently than originally planned, and if the lead track "Panutup" is like the rest of the album, it will be one unique listening experience.

Sagara will be released by Smalltown Supersound on June 14. "Panutup" can be streamed below.

Sagara:

1. "Golotrok"
2. "Mandena"
3. "Sengon"
4. "Namida"
5. "Naïve"
6. "Panutup"
