Discovered! Proof That Britney Spears Doesn't Actually Lip-Sync

BY Cam LindsayPublished Aug 21, 2008

We all know that on occasion, the wealthy, spoiled-rotten pop star might feel like taking it easy and lip-syncing to save that precious voice of theirs. A good example is poor Ashlee Simpson, who was caught with her pants down on Saturday Night Live (no, not literally) unprepared and not singing when the music, including a backing track of her recorded vocals, began. Of course, being the darling she is, Simpson blamed her live band for playing the wrong song.

That can't be said of Britney Spears. Although she has also been accused of it many times, now Brit can defend herself and say she is in fact no Ashlee, thanks to some footage of her actually singing live (well, along to her recorded self) recently surfacing from one of her concerts.

Leaked by the always reliable eBaum's World, the compilation of video clips feature audio reportedly taken directly from the star's microphone during a gig in Las Vegas.

While it's no secret that Britney's actual voice is not as strong live as what we hear magically come out of the studio, we must slap a warning on the below video clip that the audio footage contained is, as one Exclaim! employee puts it, "Brutal!" Some may even argue that it's far too brutal to withstand (we here in the office could only get to the 1:41 mark). Decide for yourself.
