Disappears Hit Up Canada on North American Tour, Plot New Album

BY Josiah HughesPublished Jul 4, 2011

Earlier this year, Chicago Krautrock/garage experimenters Disappears issued Guider, their excellent sophomore album for Kranky. Now, the group have announced a North American tour that will bring them to Canada for three shows.

First, the band will appear in Toronto and Montreal on July 22 and 23, respectively, where they will be joined by the Psychic Paramount. Then, once they have completed their tour of the eastern United States, Disappears join Obits for a trek down the West Coast, which includes a stop in Vancouver on August 18.

In addition to the tour, Disappears promise that new material is forthcoming. In an update on their site, the group writes, "We've got most of the new album done so expect lots of new stuff live as well as "old favorites." Anyway, more news on the next album and some cool things for the fall coming soon."
