"Espionage"

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Sep 4, 2015

DirtyOrgans is the experimental post-rock project of Shea Bishop Duffy, and before work is complete on his upcoming album, Exclaim! has got the premiere of a new track titled "Espionage."

Opening with some minimalist funk vibes, the song slowly blossoms into an eccentric electro-tinged exploration of sound and rhythm. It features production and drums from Charlie Twitch, who is also working with Duffy on the rest of his forthcoming full-length follow-up to 2013's Radio L EP. David Switchenko of Saxsyndrum can also be heard on "Espionage," delivering a steady stream of smooth, sultry tenor sax.

"'Espionage' came together really quickly, a few days after moving from Montreal to Toronto," Duffy said in a statement. "Looking back on it, the song was driven by the the anxiety and excitement of moving cities; anxieties and stresses, yet also excitement and anticipation."

The confusing mix of frenzied feelings has since been neatly woven together in the new track, which you can hear right now in the player below.
