Published Feb 10, 2009While it would be awesome to share news today that Dirty Projectors have wrapped their much-anticipated Domino full-length, we can only give you the next best thing: the band have a new single lined up and ready to go.
Dubbed Byond Uquafina, the Brooklyn art rockers' first Domino release is reportedly due out April 21 and will come pressed on CD and twelve-inch vinyl. For a tracklist, it will feature five songs, including the title track, a B-side called "The Bride," instrumental and a cappella versions, and a Lucky Dragons remix.
And while it's nice to have some new Dirty Projectors material to look forward to, there is still no word on when we can expect the band's proper Domino full-length or a second new album scheduled for release via Dead Oceans. However, the band are playing several live dates in various non-Canadian parts of the world in the coming weeks, and if you are in New York, head Projector David Longstreth is debuting a new musical piece he composed for Bang on a Can. That show will go down April 2 at New York City's Kaufman Center, apparently minus Longstreth, who appears to be playing London that night.
Here's the tracklisting for Byond Uquafina, as well as the band's upcoming live dates:
1. "Byond Uquafina"
2. "The Bride"
3. "Byond Uquafina" (a cappella)
4. "Byond Uquafina" (instrumental)
5. "Byond Uquafina" (Lucky Dragons Remix)
