The Dirty Nil

"Little Metal Baby Fist"/"Hate Is a Stone"

Ontario rock trio the Dirty Nil have another new 7-inch on the way, and while the vinyl won't ship until October 24, the band have already put the two-song single online.

The 7-inch pairs "Little Metal Baby Fist" with the B-side "Hate Is a Stone." Recorded at Threshold Recording Studio in Hamilton, ON, the A-side sets gravely vocals against a heart-racing backdrop of garage punk mayhem. The flip is significantly mellower, with a slower tempo and the distortion scaled back.

In an email to Exclaim!, the Dirty Nil described their recording process as "dependent on beer, blood, broken bones, broken instruments, broken ears, inescapable loudness, screaming, unresolved girl problems, exposed wiring, no pants, no shoes, making our producer drink more than he wants to, a dirty basement, beer, fuzz, real Italian pizza, 'ladies night out' wine, and a dozen donuts."

Listen to the tunes below, and order the single from Bandcamp.
