On top of Dirty Beaches' steady stream of dark-pop releases, the man born Alex Zhang Hungtai has also managed to helm a handful of film scores in recent times. One of which was for Edmonton-based filmmaker Evan Prosofsky's Waterpark, an "audio/visual exploration of West Edmonton Mall." The score will now be treated to a vinyl release.

Hungtai revealed over Twitter today (November 15) that his work for Waterpark will be delivered sometime in January through Brian Jonestown Massacre leader Anton Newcombe's A Recordings Ltd. imprint on 10-inch vinyl.

While that news alone should please fans of the nomadic art rocker, Hungtai also added that there will be even more Dirty Beaches releases to look forward to next year, including a full-length follow-up to his 2011 breakthrough disc Badlands.

"Expect other EP's as well that will pop up on my bandcamp, warming up to the new LP's out next year," he posted.

This year has seen Dirty Beaches issue a split LP with Slim Twig, U.S. Girls and Ela Orleans, and a 7-inch as part of the Kingfisher Bluez singles series, as well as the score for short film The Hippo. He's also prepped a score for an Italian horror film.
