Dirty Beaches mastermind Alex Zhang Hungtai sure is making a big impression in the world of fuzzy indie pop. He's already toured with Dum Dum Girls and Crocodiles. Now he is getting ready to hit the road with former Dum Dum Girls/Crystal Stilts/Vivian Girls member Frankie Rose.
Following a number of international solo shows, Dirty Beaches will hook up with Frankie Rose and the Outs in September for number of dates in the eastern half of North America. This includes two Canadian dates: September 23 at Pop Montreal and the next day in Toronto.
Although Hungtai is technically the opener for these gigs, he's been getting so much buzz lately that he's bound to bring out plenty of fans in his own right. He will be promoting his acclaimed LP Badlands, which came out earlier this year via Zoo Music.
