Dirty Beaches Delivers New Suicide Squeeze 7-Inch

Even though Alex Zhang Hungtai has been dropping decayed yet heart-wrenching tunes for some time now, 2011 has been the banner year for his Vancouver-based one-man band Dirty Beaches. Following the release of his heralded Badlands LP, Dirty Beaches is lining up a new seven-inch single for his disciples.

A post from Seattle label Suicide Squeeze confirms that the artist will be unleashing a two-song affair October 18 through the imprint's long-running singles series. The A-side features a brand new jam called "Lone Runner," an experimental greaser-rock number full of handclaps, dank bass lines and Hungtai's depraved showman's croon. You can hear the track below.

The flip features "Stye Eye," a song previously released on a limited cassette release that Suicide Squeeze describes as, "a stomping anthem with an insistent grind that seems to sway and swing, gaining in intensity as the track progresses."

The single will be available in a limited press run of 750 copies, with 250 of those showing up on clear vinyl. You can pre-order it here.

As previously reported, Hungtai will also be hitting the road early this fall with Frankie Rose & the Outs.
