Dinosaur Bones Sign to Dine Alone, Gear Up for New EP and Full-Length

While a recent Dine Alone Records digital sampler should have tipped you off to this a couple of months ago, the Canadian label has officially announced its latest signees: Toronto indie rockers Dinosaur Bones. To celebrate the occasion, the Ontario outfit have prepared two new offerings for us.

First up is the digital-only EP Birthright, which will be issued November 2. A four-song collection, the online release will introduce listeners to the group’s haunting pop jams. According to a press release, Dinosaur Bones’ sound is “a collage of influence, borrowing from NYC garage and not too far-gone from the current crop of off-kilter Canadian pop.” If sharing the stage with Sloan, Man Man, Arkells, Handsome Furs, Crystal Antlers, and Plants and Animals is any indication, we’re in for a real treat.

The brief set, recorded by producer Jon Drew (Fucked Up, Arkells, Tokyo Police Club), will tease Dinosaur Bones’ debut album My Divider, which drops sometime early next year. A tracklisting has yet to be revealed for My Divider, so it’s unclear as to whether or not Birthright’s tunes are exclusive.

Either way, with the EP’s release date still a couple of weeks away, your best chance to check out the burgeoning band’s music is on their upcoming tour. See the full details below.
