Dinosaur Bones

"Spins in Circles"

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jun 12, 2013

Last night (June 11), Dinosaur Bones revealed they have a new LP called Shaky Dream on the way, and now the Toronto indie rock troupe have let loose the disc's first single, "Spins in Circles."

Driven by a low-key bass-and-drum bounce, trickling guitar leads and sweetly crooned lines from Ben Fox, the song sounds something like a lost Strokes or French Kicks cut, which is okay by us.

Speaking of the track in a statement, Fox said, "We weren't going to shy away from following a song into territories that none of the other songs venture into. To us, that's what keeps things interesting. 'Spins in Circles' sort of exemplifies that philosophy, as it starts small and intimate before evolving towards this big blown out conclusion. In the studio it really felt like the song itself was leading the way, we were just helping it get there."
