Dimension Zero

Silent Night Fever

BY Greg PrattPublished Jun 1, 2002

Good cover art; a great album title and In Flames alumni should be enough selling points for most metalheads. In Flames guitar king Jesper Stromblad formed Dimension Zero six years ago, with the band remaining largely unheard of over the years. Dimension Zero is considerably more aggressive than Jesper’s day job, sounding like the modern day razor-thrash attack of the Haunted or Carnal Forge. At best, the band brings to mind images of classic Slayer; at worst the songs become monotone drawls. The band lacks the knack for writing memorable songs that the Haunted and Slayer have, rendering most of these songs great thrash fun while the disc is spinning but completely forgotten the moment the last song ends.
