Published Jan 29, 2008Pissing off 40,000 people is easier than it seems for Diana Ross. At the 2008 Air Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival this past Saturday the songstress was booed and heckled by the locals attending the festival at Montego Bay after organisers told the crowd that "to honour Miss Ross wishes, she will not be shown on the monitors. This request caused an instant hissing at the starlet when she appeared on stage, but few could see her.
Concertgoers at the stadium-sized arena were not able to see Ross, so they wanted her performance to appear on the big TV screen. Fair enough. A concert organiser said, "It was at the 11th hour that her manager said she wouldnt allow us to IMAG (In Vivo Imaging) her performance and, if any cameras were present, she would not go onstage.
Considering Dianas request it seems as if she had something to hide from her fans who paid up to $307 a ticket to attend the festival (she was fiscally compensated in the area of $300,000 for an hour-long performance). Hisses turned to boos and birds quickly flicked into the air when she started her Supremes hits as no one beyond the first section could even see her. Sticking to their guns, fans continued to boo the Motown legend throughout her entire set.
