DIANA

"Moment of Silence" (video)

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Jun 20, 2017

Toronto dream popsters DIANA gave us their latest LP Familiar Touch last year, and now "Moment of Silence" from that record has been given the music video treatment.

The clip sees the band teaming up with Canadian director Kevan Funk, though the footage was shot overseas in Iceland. It tells the story of a metal singer who finds catharsis by screaming her songs onstage.

"I love this video because it's and idea that never would have entered my mind — to have a story of a metal singer who finds their 'silence' or solace in those moments on stage where she can really let loose — it surprised me when I first read the treatment which was a nice place to start," the band's Kieran Adams said in a statement. "Kevan had a tricky task in rendering that concept into a 5-ish minute video, and it's really incredible how the story delivered with such subtlety and with so many picturesque moments, it really takes the mood of the song to a place I wouldn't have imagined, but one that works so nicely."

DIANA will be taking the stage themselves at a string of upcoming tour dates, which you can find listed below. Beyond those, check out the brand new video for "Moment of Silence."
