Devon Williams Readies "Your Sympathy" Single, Debut Slumberland LP

It's hard to believe a member of Epitaph punk band Osker went on to join soft-rockin' indie crew Lavender Diamond. It's even harder to believe he now crafts timeless pop songs under his birth name, Devon Williams. Those are the facts, though, and the California songwriter is gearing up to release a new album following his 2008 release Carefree.

The new record is called Euphoria and was engineered by Vancouver producer and Destroyer/Evaporators member Dave Carswell. Aside from that information, we know Euphoria will be released in the fall of this year via Slumberland Records.

In the meantime, Williams will be offering a tease of the album with a seven-inch single. The record features "Your Sympathy" on the A-side, a pop song said to recall the work of the Church, Felt and Teardrop Explodes. "Sisters" takes up the B-side and is described as "a sweeping miniature epic full of fuzzed guitars and soaring, chorused jangle."

The "Your Sympathy" single will be available from Slumberland Records on June 28.
