'Stranger Things' Soundtrack Details Revealed

BY Sarah MurphyPublished Aug 10, 2016

A couple weeks ago, Netflix's recent bingewatch smash Stranger Things hinted that the show's official soundtrack was "coming soon." Now, details for the release have been unveiled.

The OST will arrive in two volumes, with the first part arriving digitally on August 12 and in CD format on September 16 through Lakeshore/Netflix. As previously reported, the show was scored by Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein of Austin synth outfit S U R V I V E, and it's their work that will make up the first volume.

The second instalment, meanwhile, will be available digitally on August 19, followed by a physical release on September 23. At this point, there's unfortunately no word of a vinyl edition of either volume, and it's unclear what music will make up that second volume. However, that second volume could very possibly feature the collection of previously released, era-appropriate songs used in the show by artists such as the Clash, New Order, Modern English, and Echo & the Bunnymen.

The eerie artwork for Volume One is pictured above, while the complete tracklisting for the first instalment can be found down below.

In addition to the release of the Stranger Things soundtrack, S U R V I V E will also release an album of their own. It's titled RR7349 and is slated to hit shelves on September 30 via Relapse Records.
