Now that the details of Depeche Mode's Sounds of the Universe LP are all sorted, the veteran synth-poppers have taken the next logical step and announced their upcoming "Tour of the Universe." Kicking off their North American live dates in Toronto July 24, the band will embark on a 22-city tour that will travel the continent, giving fans a live taste of the new stuff and likely a whole lot of good, ol' nostalgia.

As previously reported, Sounds of the Universe is due out April 21 via EMI. Along with the album being released as a single CD, digitally and on double vinyl (which also includes the CD version), it will also get some deluxe box-set treatment, which will add on a pile of extra features. These include two CDs of bonus songs, remixes and 14 demos; a DVD featuring a behind-the-scenes documentary, interviews and live studio footage; and two 84-page hardback books, which include song lyrics and exclusive pics from the likes of Anton Corbijn and Daniel Miller, among others.
