After releasing his ambitious TA13OO album last year, Denzel Curry has returned with a new single.
Titled "Ricky," the Florida rapper's latest takes its namesake from his father and finds him reflecting on the lessons and wisdom that were passed on to him.
In his first verse, Curry raps, "See Ricky said 'Never let nobody get the one up on you' / 'If they run up on you, hit 'em with a one, two,'" before rapping on the hook, "My daddy said, 'Trust no man but your brothers / And never leave your day one's in the gutter.'"
The song arrives alongside a video directed by recurring collaborator Twelve'len, and you can watch it below. A press release explains that the clip delves into Miami's "backyard brawling" culture that Curry's late brother took part in. It was shot in the backyard of MMA fighter Dhafir "Dada 5000" Harris.
Curry is set to lend support to Billie Eilish on her upcoming North American tour.
