Delorean Tease New 'Apar' Project

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jun 20, 2013

It's been ages since Spanish house-pop dabblers Delorean delivered their shimmering Subiza LP, but the dancey quartet have revealed a new teaser video insinuating that new music is on the way.

Late yesterday (June 19), the band unveiled a video full of watery visuals and likewise fluid, synth-and-moan-driven melodies. The video caps with the word Apar, which also adorns the band's newly worked-over website.

While details are scant beyond that, one could assume that's a song or album title. True Panther Sounds bustled up interest by tweeting the website link, so presumably the label is on board to release whatever is waiting in the wings. The imprint had issued Subiza back in 2010.

UPDATE: Apar is out September 10 in North America and a day earlier in Europe via True Panther/Mushroom Pillow.

A quick Googling reveals the word is the Romanian equivalent of "Appear," which is a pretty atmospheric album title, but it could also allude to a South American armadillo. Make of that what you will.

While we wait for the rest of the info to arrive, you can check out the sudsy electro sounds in the video clip down below. Spoiler alert: an armadillo never manages to swim across the screen
