Defenestration

One Inch God

BY Greg PrattPublished Aug 1, 2001

Don't be fooled into thinking this will be death metal, because you'll see after about one minute of the first track that this is merely stripped-down nu-metal. The grooves are flying, the vocals are going from sung to screamed and the mosh pit is in effect. I suppose what sets Defenestration apart from the rest is the addition of female vocals, which, unfortunately, just makes the Kittie comparisons all too easy. The band has a slightly more extreme edge about them - almost bringing to mind some underground sludgecore bands, at times. Maybe that's just me trying to think positive, though. The band has the aggression and the grooves, but to me it is just more Ozzfest-core, which the world has enough of already.
