Deerhunter Announce Hiatus at ATP NY

Along with TV on the Radio, fellow weird rock juggernauts Deerhunter have announced that they'll be going on hiatus. In an announcement during their set at this weekend's All Tomorrow's Parties in Catskills, NY, front-man Bradford Cox broke the news.

While he didn't divulge much information, Cox referred to his band members as his "best friends," so the break can't be for that long. He also said the reasoning was to "devote time to some other things" (which were guessing means other projects such as Atlas Sound) and that the break would last for "a long time."

Keep in mind, however, that this isn't the first time the band have gone on a hiatus. They also took a lengthy break back in 2007, which resulted in their Microcastles and Weird Era Cont. LPs soon after.

As previously reported, Atlas Sound's Logos is due out via Kranky on October 20.
