Deerhoof "The Trouble with Candyhands"

Deerhoof "The Trouble with Candyhands"
When Deerhoof announced their upcoming Breakup Song LP last week, the band offered up some quick snatches of sound via their "Jingletron" app. The quirky popsters have now dropped a song in full. It's called "The Trouble with Candyhands," and you can stream it down below.

Drummer Greg Saunier had previously said in a statement that Breakup Song is "a sensational record of Cuban-flavored party-noise-energy music," and the new single certainly toes that line.

A sexily punched-up horn section and Latin rhythms straddle the tune's plunked-out guitar melody, which is sure to start some sort of sweat-soaked activity on or off the dancefloor. Despite the album's dour title, "The Trouble with Candyhands" has singer Satomi Matsuzaki cooing about someone showering her with flowers. Lucky!

As previously reported, Breakup Song drops September 4 via Polyvinyl.
