Resting somewhere beneath a playful poof of post-rock smoke, San Francisco eclectics Deerhoof released their new The Magic album to retailers today (June 24). It turns out they've pulled something else out of their proverbial hat, a music video for opening track "The Devil and His Anarchic Surrealist Retinue."
Directed by Joe Baughman, the claymation video is full of bizarre graveyard rituals, far-too-elaborate chess games, and the exploits of our recently risen, adorably horned and quadrupedal dark lord. And all this plays out to the score of Deerhoof's manic, blues fuzz-to-gloss pop flutter.
You can peep the clip below, while The Magic is out now through Polyvinyl.
