Published Feb 07, 2011The annual Pacific Northwest music festival Sasquatch! may not get as much attention as its southern cousin Coachella, but the event still packs a mighty punch. As this morning's (February 7) lineup announcement suggests, there's a lot of talent heading their way to the Gorge in George, WA this May.
A big tradition of the festival circuit is the reunion set, and this year's Sasquatch! features three. Coming off last week's news that they had big plans in 2011, a press release confirms Death From Above 1979 will be gracing the Gorge stage, as will recently reunited '90s alt-rockers Archers of Loaf. Guided By Voices are also slated to appear.
Another notable set will be Wolf Parade's, suggesting an end, or at the very least a stop-gap, to the group's hiatus. The Flaming Lips will up the ante by performing their 1999 album The Soft Bulletin in its entirety, with a smattering of other songs to boot.
Other acts scheduled to appear include: Modest Mouse, Wilco, Death Cab For Cutie, Foo Fighters, Flying Lotus, the Decemberists, Bright Eyes, Iron & Wine, Robyn, Yeasayer, Beach House, Deerhunter, Sleigh Bells, Major Lazer, !!!, the Thermals, Best Coast, Surfer Blood, Gayngs, Black Mountain, Smith Westerns, Das Racist, Twin Shadow, Ratatat, Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings, Washed Out, Local Natives, Jenny & Johnny, CSS, the Drums, the Antlers, the Radio Dept., Black Mountain, Sharon Van Etten, and Gold Panda.
This year's Sasquatch! runs May 27 to 30. You can find out more on the event's website here.
