It's been 10 years since Death Cab for Cutie delivered their landmark Transatlanticism LP, and the Bellingham, WA-bred band will toast their accomplishment with a deluxe anniversary release.
A press release confirms that Barsuk will issue the Transatlanticism Tenth Anniversary Edition on October 23 on vinyl and as a digital download. While Transatlanticism was included in the band's 2012 vinyl box set, this will be the first pressing of the LP proper in years.
The vinyl edition remains the same as before, but it will also include a digital download code for an 11-song demos set fittingly dubbed Transatlanticism Demos. Never before released, the early versions of the songs are described as "an intimate peek into the landmark album's genesis" and "drastically different from the beloved final studio versions.

Transatlanticism Demos will also be available in a digital bundle with the original LP, as a separate "low-priced" digital release, and now as a download with the purchase of Death Cab's Barsuk Years vinyl box set.
To further celebrate the set, Death Cab for Cutie will be performing the album as a whole this Sunday (September 1) at Seattle's Bumbershoot Festival.
