Death Cab for Cutie Prep Standalone Vinyl Reissues of First Three LPs

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Nov 11, 2014

While they initially arrived mislabelled, a few long-out-of-print LPs from Death Cab for Cutie's early discography were brought back to wax in a vinyl box set in 2013. In case you didn't feel like dropping a wad of dough, three of those albums are about to be made available a la carte.

While there were whisperings of standalone represses earlier this fall from Modern Vinyl arriving this month, new listings on Amazon suggest that 1998's Something About Airplanes, 2000's We Have the Facts and We're Voting Yes and 2001's The Photo Album land December 16 via Barsuk.

This has, mind you, not been confirmed by either Death Cab for Cutie or Barsuk.

While last year, the band had delivered an expanded 10th anniversary edition of 2003's Transatlanticism, these appear to be unaltered editions of the earlier LPs.

Death Cab for Cutie are also working on a new album, which will be their first since the departure of founding member Chris Walla.
