Death Cab for Cutie

"Black Sun" (live on 'Letterman')

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jan 30, 2015

Not every band that graces David Letterman's Late Show stage gets to chat with the iconic TV host, but Death Cab for Cutie seemed to stir up something in the guy last night (January 29). Following a few wide-eyed q's about mountain ranges and how to pronounce the title of the group's Kintsugi , Letterman let the band do their thing via a live performance of the set's "Black Sun."

The band tackled the reserved single with new live members Dave Depper and Zac Rae in tow, with the performance highlighted by rainy night organs, a few chunky guitar leads and Ben Gibbard's lonley lines reflecting on a metaphorical dumpster full of dreams.

You'll find the performance down below.

As previously announced, Death Cab's Kintsugi drops March 31 via Atlantic Records. The band starts a North American tour, which hits Toronto and Montreal, a couple of weeks later.
