The concept of the blues-rock duo doesn't seem to be leaving the public consciousness anytime soon, and one of the latest "drummer + guitarist" bands popping up on the scene is L.A. duo Deap Vally. The twosome, fresh off the heels of releasing their debut, Sistrionix, were a late addition to the festival, playing on borrowed equipment and making up their set list as they went, but that didn't stop them from rocking out. Guitarist Lindsey Troy's distinctive wail worked in tandem with her crunchy guitar riffs and drummer Julie Edwards' relentless beats for a fantastic performance that also served as their Canadian live debut. Songs like "Lies" and "Walk of Shame" employed the aforementioned elements to a great result, and hopefully the duo return for a properly planned performance in the Great White North sometime soon.
