Dead Can Dance Announce North American Tour with Stops in Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal

BY Alex HudsonPublished Mar 22, 2012

Last year, the previously inactive Dead Can Dance reunited and announce plans for a new album and a world tour. Now, they've made good on half of that promise by announcing a series of live dates that will begin later this summer.

The North American leg begins right here in Canada with a show at the Orpheum in Vancouver on August 9. They will then head down into the U.S. before returning to Great White North for two more shows: Toronto on August 23 and Montreal the day after.

From there, Dead Can Dance will play more U.S. gigs before heading to Europe in September. The band have promised that Asian and South American legs will be announced shortly. Until then, see their currently confirmed schedule below.

Core DCD members Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry previously indicated that they hoped to be finished a new album by summer 2012, so it's entirely possible that they'll be playing some new material at the gigs.

UPDATE: The as-yet-untitled album is reportedly due out August 9.
