David Lynch Opens Up About Scrapped Kanye West Collaboration: "I Feel I Let Him Down"
Here's a team-up we would have loved to have seen: delightfully weird director David Lynch and rap superstar Kanye West almost made a music video together. Lynch has revealed that this project was to happen last year, but it sadly never got off the ground.

The Twin Peaks mastermind and Yeezy got together because Lynch voiced his enthusiasm for the dark Yeezus cut "Blood on the Leaves." The two then met up at Lynch's house with plans to make a video, but the filmmaker hit a creative block.

Lynch told The Daily Beast, "We almost worked together, but I never got the ideas. I feel I let him down a little bit. I was going to do the music video for 'Blood on the Leaves,' but it never happened I didn't come up with any ideas that I thought he would like. Kanye came up to the house one day. Kanye's a good guy, and a great musician. I loved the song, and that's what brought us together, but I couldn't come up with ideas that thrilled either one of us."

In the interview, Lynch described "Blood on the Leaves" as "one of my favourite songs."

With any luck, one of the songs from Kanye's upcoming album will inspire Lynch to give this collaboration another kick at the can, although we won't be holding our breath.
