Former Talking Head David Byrne has revealed the first leg of his massive six-month tour celebrating his work with his old producer pal Brian Eno. Come September, Byrne will travel across North America minus Enos physical presence for his "Songs of David Byrne and Brian Eno tour, which will set down in Toronto and Montreal on October 29 and 30, respectively.
On each live date, Byrne plans to feature songs from the Talking Heads albums produced by Eno (More Songs About Buildings and Food, Fear of Music, and Remain In Light), as well as those from the duos 1981 collaboration My Life in the Bush of Ghosts. Also in the set list will be live performances of tracks from the forthcoming Eno/Byrne album Everything That Happens Will Happen Today, as the show tries to "draw a line linking this new material with what we did 30 years ago.
As of Monday (August 4), you can download a taste of the pairs new work at Everythingthathappens.com, which is offering up a free download of the Everything That Happens track "Strange Overtones. The album in its entirety will be available to download and stream exclusively at the site come August 18, with physical copies of an enhanced CD and deluxe package also available for mail order.
